WHAT IS COMPUTER

Computer is an electronic device use for storing and processing data, typically in binary form according to instructions given to it in a variable program.

COMPONENT OF A COMPUTER

Basically there there two main component of a computer and they are;

Hardware

Software.

HARDWARE

Computer hardware is the physical component (parts) of a computer such as the case, central processing unit (CPU) , monitor, mouse, keyboard, motherboard, speakers etc.

Therefore, computer hardware is the physical  or the touchable part of a computer.

SOFTWARE 

Computer software is the collection of instructions and data that tell a computer how to work.

The purpose of most software functions is to transform inputs into outputs or products.  However, some functions will received control flow instead of inputs. 

Some examples of computer software are internet browsers, operating system, movie player etc.

TYPES OF COMPUTER 

There are three types of computer,  namely ;

Analog computer 

Digital computer 

Hybrid computer 

ANALOG  COMPUTER 

An analog computer or analogue computer is a type of computer that uses the continuously  variable aspects of physical phenomena such as electrical, mechanical or hydraulic quantities to model the problem being solved

Examples are speedometer , thermometer,  voltmeter etc.

DIGITAL COMPUTER 

A digital computer or  digital electronic computer is a computer machine which is both an electronic computer and digital computer.  Examples of digital electronic computer includes the IBM pc,  the Apple Macintosh, modern computers, digital clock,calculators etc.

HYBRID COMPUTER 

Hybrid computers are computers that exhibit features of analog computers and digital computers. The Digital components normally serves as the controller and provides logical and numerical operations.
