UEW Level 200 lady allegedly beaten and robbed

A  L200 female Biology student of the University of Education, Winneba and a member of Ghana National Association of Teachers on Campus, GNATOC has allegedly been attacked, beaten and robbed by some unknown persons on campus.

This sad incident took place yesterday, 17th September 2022 at around 10:00pm on south campus at popular area known by students as bush canteen.

Security is one of the major issue students and the entire University community must pay close attention to especially in times where series of activities are been held on campus bringing non students and workers of UEW  to the various campuses of the University.

Presently there is virtually no mode to check individuals who enter and exit campus at all hours of the day. Sometimes security personnels who are supposed to be at various check points are sometimes found sleeping at late ours of the night, a time where security is most important.

There has been several incidence where students items are been stolen but according to some students, they have not seen measures taken to curb such incidence.

Students must make it one of their core responsibility to take their personal security into their hands and protect themselves against such unpleasant occurrences.

In view of this, students  especially ladies should ensure that they walk in groups of 2-3 in night.
